The Friends of Science in Medicine (FMS), a mere 400 members in this crusade, is running a poor show against Complementary Medicine being taught in our Uni's when you consider how many thousands of doctors, specialists, scientists, researchers, etc. there are in Australia, let alone the world, who haven't joined the ranks in support of this attack. Even our own Aust. Medical Assoc. (AMA) have reconsidered their position and retracted any support to the FMS!
The FMS spokesperson, Dr John Dwyer, is using very poorly researched arguments that in themselves hold little threat BUT he may have stirred up some fears for people wishing to take an Alternative Medicine path in their studies. Should there be a down turn in numbers to attend Complementary Medicine courses then this may have an impact.
Do not lose your right to freedom of choice in your healthcare. If you wish to continue to have either the opportunity to become a Complementary Health practitioner or be consulted by one PLEASE SIGN!!!
